Microsoft Lync Lync is a unified communication solution built by Microsoft; it's basically a messaging tool specifically designed for the corporate environment. If you're looking for a comparison, Lync is similar to MSN Messenger, but for corporate world. Microsoft Office 2007 SP3 and 2010 SP2, Live Meeting 2007 Console, Lync 2010, Lync 2010 Attendee, Lync 2013 SP1, and Lync Basic 2013 SP1 allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted Office Graphics Library (OGL) font, aka 'Microsoft Office Graphics Component Remote Code Execution Vulnerability.'
